Intense purple-red color. The nose is rich in red fruit, ripe black cherry, blackberry and blackcurrant. After a short time in the glass, the wine opens up with a hint of essential oils. The tannins are pleasantly present. Long-lasting and soft finish. Excellent with typical Maremma dishes, as well as wild boar and game in general. Also excellent with a mature Pecorino Toscano DOP.
The local name Morellino dates back to the Middle Ages. The etymology of the designation of origin is explained by the brown color of the “Morello” horses that used to pull the carriages or by the dark color that characterizes the individual Sangiovese grapes, similar to Brunello DOCG. What is unique about this Sangiovese from Scansano is the fact that it has not come into contact with other grape varieties for more than 150 years. The only contact with a foreign grape variety was with Alicante in the 18th century.

Vines and olive trees as far as the eye can see. A wonderful breeze from the coast and a hint of fresh rosemary on the nose. Welcome to LOACKER's Tenuta Valdifalco in the Maremma. It's a good place to live and occasionally talk to the vines!
